Floating restaurant

Kruvit Raft is a floating restaurant located on the East side of the island, in front of Maphro Island. When you reach the pier, you will have to pay a small parking fee for the motorbike (10 baths) or car. Then, a fisherman brings you with a long tail boat to the floating restaurant, where you can check the seafood before sitting and ordering your meal. Tiger prawns, crabs, lobsters, fishes, sharks…all kinds of seafood is available, and it is great to watch them all and be able to choose which one you want to eat. The price depends of the weight.

We ordered three different types of crabs : blue crab in lime and pepper sauce, blue crab in yellow curry and soft shell crab in mango salad. The soft shell crab was the highlight of the meal, deliciously soft and crispy. The atmosphere is lovely as well too, it was a very hot day but a nice sea breeze made this meal really relaxing.

The floating restaurant is a must-see and is really amazing. The seafood we had there was, of course, the best we had in Phuket and should the place have been closer to our hotel, we would have happily returned.

Her : Just for the long tail boat ride, it was already worth the trip ! I had soft shell crab for the first time in my life and, although I was a bit skeptical at first , I eventually ate the shell as well and it was de-li-cious !

Him : Before sitting and ordering make sure to walk and check all the fish tanks. I saw sharks, sting rays and other interesting animals. Soft shell crabs has been always in my top 10 food of all time and this was the best I had.
